The ONE rod is the first precision casting instrument built to take advantage of our groundbreaking Konnetic Technology. Conceived by our chief rod designer, Jerry Siem, the ONE rod was crafted to become an intuitive extension of the fly fishers intent. ?The ONE rod offers a more fluid transmission of energy from the arm to the fly. The eye sees the cast it wants to make and it is translated to the hand and through the rod instantaneously,? Jerry states. This tip-to-hand sensitivity of the fast-action ONE rod results in increased feedback, line control and accuracy that is unparalleled in the marketplace.

In 2004, Sage introduced Generation 5 Technology (G5), a breakthrough in its day that continues to be the proven platform of our top performance rod families. In our continuing effort to explore and develop new technologies, over the past several years Sage has extensively tested a wide range of construction methods and materials, including nanoparticle resin systems. We've concluded, as of today, that Sage?s existing proprietary resin and carbon fiber system is far superior for crafting the high performance fly rods that anglers the world over have come to rely on. However, never satisfied to merely test new technologies as they come along, Sage has developed a new, superior technology all our own. Introducing the most significant evolution in fly rod development since Generation 5. Sage?s new Konnetic Technology combines proprietary aerospace-grade materials with innovative manufacturing methods and processes. The impossibly lighter rods built utilizing this technology provide ultimate line control and accuracy due to enhanced ?tip-to-hand? sensitivity and feedback, yet still retain Sage?s renowned power and durability. Konnetic Technology incorporates a new composite material that was developed using an optimized ratio of Sage?s proprietary resin to high modulus carbon fiber. Our Advanced Modulus Positioning System (AMPS) is a process that places the carbon materials to exacting tolerances for the greatest blank strength and efficient energy transfer throughout the shaft. Using our High Compression Molding (HCM) process, the blank?s carbon fibers are compacted for optimum density and precise alignment, simultaneously fusing the 50% lighter all-carbon fiber inner core. The result of tireless coordination between our chief rod designer, engineers and production teams, Konnetic Technology was refined over years of research both in the lab and on the water stressing hundreds of prototypes.

Custom Cork Handle. Snub-nose, half-Wells grip. The cork is custom formed to match the exact taper of the ONE rod, providing a snug fit for even greater sensitivity and feel.

New Low-Profile Ferrules. The inherent strength of Konnetic Technology allows us to reduce the weight of our all-graphite ferrule connections by nearly 70%.  Improved aerodynamics plus lighter weight contribute to livelier blanks.

Reel Seat. The warm, elegant tones of the walnut insert are perfectly married with the bronze anodized aluminum reel seat.

Round Tip Eye. This Sage-designed tip-top never pinches or binds the line, allowing the caster to make mends and cast in any direction with full control.

Black Ice Color. Sage?s first black rod, this translucent black finish is complemented by bronze guide wraps and trim.

Black Rod Tube. Handmade on Bainbridge like all our tubes, this distinctive rod tube features a raised logo medallion and black cloth sleeve with black silkscreen.
